mpeg codec?

I had to re-install Vegas 5 and now I have no mpeg support for loading or rendering. Is there a codec I'm supposed to install? I tried to load a project that used an mpeg file and it says the file is unsupported. This project used to work fine.

You need to register your mpeg encoder again. Try to render something to MPEG, click the custom button, and follow the steps to register it again.

Mpeg is not even listed in the "Save as type" drop-down when I go to render.
