Welcome to the club. :-)

I'll assume you know there are two different activiation codes and you have each. First apply the application registration activation number. Next drag any MPG file to the timeline then attempt to render it as a MPEG. Video Factory should pop up the MPEG registration Dialog box, demanding you register. Pick a method, when you receive the activation code if you don't have it already, be sure you enter in the MPEG registration window, or just apply the Registry patch, do NOT enter in the application registration window. It should work. See all my rants as to why it sometimes don't.

Well wvg, I seem to have run into simular problems as you.
I reinstalled my operating system and now I cannot get the mpeg
plugin to work. You mentioned some registry thing that removed
a registry entry. Can you post this?

I feel your pain.

By chance did you also reformat your hard drive, add or change a partition or install a new one? If so, you'll need to get new activation codes prior to cleaning the Registry.

If you ask customer service what they send you in the way of a Registry clearer is actually Microsoft's own MsiZap.exe (maybe you can find it on their site) along with a batch file that searches for and removes all references of any Registry entries having the value shown below.

While only this one value in the Registry is removed, is is scattered in dozens of places all through your Registry, so removing it manually can be a real pain in the butt.

I would wait until Monday morning, then give them a call.

Just want this to stay at the top. Three people have now had this issue
and all have either done upgrades and/or reinstalls. SF needs to rethink
this online code generation as I am concerned to the long term problems
that can occur with this. My guess is that this problem has not been
seen because it takes some time before people upgrade there systems.
We think we will see more as time goes on. Of course I understand
SF's need to keep track of MPEG installs and I am ok with that but
the install itself cannot rely on SF being here generating new codes as
they could go out of business or be bought, any number of things.
