MPEG videos do not play in sync

Hello,

I just picked up VMS 8 and I have started my exploration of this program by importing an MPEG file that was originally a FLV file. The MPEG plays fine in Windows Media and Real Player, etc. However when I import the file for editing in VMS 8, the video plays too fast and the audio plays normal. Or the audio plays in slow-motion while the video plays normal. I cannot get these two tracks to sync up. Can someone help out a newbie? What am I doing wrong? I change the playback rate but the other track changes as well.

Try to use another encoder to make the FLV an MPG and retry. If you are using buggy encoders or readers, you will get such incompatibilities from app to app.

Do you recommend any codecs that you know would work with VMS? Also, it seems like I should be able to isolate the video and audio tracks and adjust their speeds to re-sync, but that is not the case. What can I do to isolate the tracks or can I do such a thing?
