My partner rendered an mpg file in Premiere, and VV3 won't have anything to do with it. He rendered it in MPEG2, but when I click on it in the explorer, instead of file information, all I get is the directory path.

The file plays in Media Player. Extension is .mpg

Anybody have any ideas?
