MPEG1 / Multimedia template

Can anyone get a playable MPEG1 file using the Multimedia template from V5?

Neither Windows Media player (version 9) or QuickTime pro (6.5.2) will playback the resulting file. I tried altering the video format between MPEG1 and VCD and neither work. The only template that works is to choose VCD NTSC format, and change the width to 320 and set the aspect ratio to 1.000. The resulting file seems to play okay. But that doesn't resolve why the Multimedia template doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Mpeg-1 in Vegas sucks. Use TMPG Encoder if you want to encode Mpeg-1 files.

Yep. I just ran across another thread that suggested the same thing. I just downloaded TMPG and it tried it out. I got perfect results first shot out of the box and plays great with both Windows Media Player and QT.

Thanks ;-)

I've heard of TMPG for years, just never thought to try it myself. It's amazing that this high a quality software is free.
