MPEG2 and Vegas 4.0

I have an ancient version of Vegas (4.0e). Sony doesn't provide any technical support for that anymore. I recently had to get a new video camera that saves videos in .mpeg2 instead of .avi. I was able to import the video materials but there's no audio track. Any clue what would help?

Well the obvious answer is a later version of Vegas that supports the format. Anything from Vegas 6 onwards should suffice.

Alternatively you could try Gearshift from VASST and see if it can convert the MPEG2 files into a format Vegas 4.0 can handle.
