MPEG2 Stutter

This is probably very basic, so forgive my ignorance.

I am using VV3c. I first rendered a project to Disk from the timeline, then printed to tape with no problem. Next I took the same file and burnt it to a CD as MPEG file. Also no problem.
Finally I tried burning to a CD using MPEG-2 format (it is a ten minute piece).
Under MPEG-2 I get a lot of stuttering. Is this a matter of using different settings and if yes, what should I adjust?

You need to select either the VCD or SVCD template. If you're making a DVD, select one of the DVD templates. A lot of PC software don't play MPEG-2 files that well. Microsoft's Media Player is one of the worst, especially if you try to view at 2X or full screen. Also how much horsepower does your PC have? I have a very high end setup and I see weird problems, that go away if a do a fresh reboot. Also if you use too high a bitrate your DVD set top player may have trouble. On top of all that some DVD players have trouble with CD-R, and not as much with CD-RW. Then there is the issue of reflectivity. So sometimes switching media bands is what is needed.

Thanks for the advise. I had changed the framesize. When I burned again using 480x480, it worked fine. I guess that the player recognizes Mpeg-2 when it is set to 480x480 and otherwise thinks it is Mpeg-1.
