mpeg2 video audio asyncron in VV3

Hello!
I rendered an 1 hour long mpeg 2 video from DVD AVI project with default Pal DVD preset ( the project is Pal too), the result the audio is 2-3 second late at the end of file, and the end of audio is missing ( the audio and video is the same long).
What should I change to get video and audio in perfect syncron? My operation system is Xp professional.
Greetings from Hungary, Tibor

Hi Tibor,

If you've written the project to DVD check playback on a stand alone player. If you've just got the mpeg2 file on your hard drive, then I've got another question or two...

Viewing the project you rendered to mpeg2 in VV3, if you play it from the start of the project is the audio in sync? [if you've got a delay in the start of the audio all the way thru, you need to get rid of the delay] To fix an audio sync problem at the begining, remove the audio track or track from group (right click on the audio track & select remove from group) -> grab the left edge of the first audio track and drag it to the right -> select all your audio tracks and shift them left in the timeline until things are in sync. -> select just the first audio track & grab the left edge, dragging it as far left as it will go.

If the audio is in sync at the beginning of the project, but off toward the end, Usually I've found that the audio track extends beyond the video. Go to the end of the tracks, zoom in to see if they end exactly at the same time. If needed, select all your audio tracks, then holding down the control key, grab the right edge of the audio track and move it left until the video and audio tracks end at the same time.

If everything checks out, if the audio is in sync throughout your project before you render it, open your mpeg2 in VV3 & see if everything lines up as above. If everything does, then I'd suspect the problem is in your player software or perhaps your PC isn't fast enough to render everything. If things are off, then the mpeg2 rendering could be at fault, potentially a problem with the software & there I don't know how to help you.

Hello Mikkie!
In the original DV project everything is in perfect syncron. If I open the mpeg file in Vegas the video and audio track is equal lomg, the beginning is in syncron, later the delay get bigger and bigger, the final delay is cca 3 second, and this 3 second is missing from the end of audio. I played back the file from several application (Media player, Win DVD 4.5, Power DVD 4,0, Cine Player), I am sure that the file is wrong. There is another interesting thing in vegas what I hear and see in the audio track is not corresponding. I see the fade out of the file, but the material's end is missing without fade. I rendered the whole project to a new DV AVI file (14GB!), and rendered this to mpeg2 video, the result is still bad.
