MPEG4 and divX

mel58i wrote on 7/16/2006, 9:59 AM
I have the official (divx.com) media player and divx converter. If I render out MPEG4 from vegas it won't open in the divx player and says "can't detect iods atom" - don't know what this means!
So I take it that the two formats are not the same.
Wonder if anyone can clarify?

Mel.

Because Divx is Mepg-4 advanced simple profile. Vegas renders H.264 AVC which is much more complex than the divx codec.
