MPEG4 Import problems

Hello, this is what is going on.

I have a legit copy of Vegas 8.0 installed on my desktop PC (Windows XP), I can import mpeg4 audio clips just fine into the timeline.

I installed the same copy of Vegas 8.0 onto my laptop (Windows 7 64bit) using the same activation codes and the exact same mpeg4 files will not upload into the timeline.

I'll drag them from the folder and the icon will turn into a plus as if it will let me, but then when I let go nothing happens. The file then appears in the project media folder in my Vegas project but I still cannot add the song to the timeline.

Please help.

Please post the Quicktime Player versions installed on both machines.
This will help lead you to a solution.

Are you sure it's not the other way around?
Generally speaking, 7.6.4 and 7.6.5 cause the problem you mentioned, and rolling back to 7.6 is the solution.

Actually, yes, it was the other way around. I am downloading QT6 right now. I'll post my results.
