MPEG4: My Samsung and VP8

I have a Samsung SC-MX10 camcorder. It's a nice little recorder that saves files in the MPEG4 format. My SVP8 only sees the audio and I would like to get the video portion, any help?

BTW, I forgot the essential info:

I am running a PC with a Quadcore CPU, 4GB of RAM, an nVidia GT7950 with 512 MB Video RAM. I have lots of disk space. My unit is running Vista Home Premium with the latest updates and Service Packs.

Somehow, the file needed to use MPEG4 files has been removed, corrupted or otherwise messed up. I need to find the solution.

According to camcorderinfo.com Samsung uses a slightly different flavour of MP4 than AVCHD and requires a plugin (probably not included in Vegas or other NLEs) for editing.

I would try Samsung's support site, maybe you can find it there or technical support can send you in the right direction.
