MPEGs don't seem to be accepted by Pinnacle Impression 2.1

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but any mpeg-2 DVD compliant video I encode with VV3 doesn't seem to be accepted by Pinnacle Impression v2.1. I encode at 8000 mbps variable, average 4200, video only. Even changing the file extension doesn't seem to work.

I have encoded a file with Pinnacle Studio 7, but the size was unreal, and with Ulead Media Studio, both of which seem to be accepted no problem. I'd use these, but the Main Concept program gives great results at almost half the size (90 min video in 2.5 GB at the rate I used!).

Could someone help me at all? Thanks!

Moz: update your program to version 2.21 - go to impression's website - this should solve the problem.

but don't use VBR with impression becasue there are some problems.
