mpg audio not importing

1) New default project
2) Drag and drop the video (it has audio with it, and plays with Windows Media Player)
The video shows in the timeline, but the Audio is flat lined!
the video plays inside DVD Architect Studio 4.5 just fine.
I have made sure the Audio path is the same for all playback devices.
The sound (wave graphic) is just a flat line

Please advise

Vista 64
QuadCore
6GB RAM

Was this video exported as a DVD quality MPEG from Vegas? And at what audio setting?

Hi there - I sympathize. . .

I have a similar problem, I wonder if anybody knows a fix or at least what is going on.

I have Vista 64 bit, 2.53 GHz 4G memory
I am working with Main Concept MPEG-2 video (720-480-32, 29.970fps). When I try to import it into DVD Architect there is NO AUDIO. Video shows up fine. The file plays fine with audio in Windows Media Player, and I can open it in Sony Vegas successfully as well.

Architect opens AVI files that I have with no problems, as well as the WMV files.

If you or anybody knows how to fix it - I would very much appreciate it.

It's hard to say without knowing the audio file format.

If, when you're playing the video in Windows Media Player, you go to File/Properties, what does it list as the audio codec?
