MPG2 1st frame is black?

My 5 track 20 second veg. Tracks 1 n 2 are graphics w alpha channel. 3rd is a Jpeg. 4th is Jpeg. 5th is Audio. When I render to either Mpg2 for DVDA menu, or AVI, the first frame is black. I'm pretty sure I've done this before and it was the first frame of the vid not a black frame. All tracks are butted up against headers, and when zooming down to frame level verifies this. I've rebuilt the project and the same thing happens.

What am I missing? A simple 20 minute menu project is now pushing past 3 hours. Thanks, John.

Try double clicking the first jpg to create a selection. See if in pre-rendering/RAM rendering the selection, if you get a black frame.
You shouldn't, unless there is a fade.
Also, it might be that Vegas isn't forcing an Iframe at the front of the encode.

Thanks for your reply. There was a fade, I eliminated that and prerendered as you said and then rendered to avi and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks Spot. With me, the frustration seems to hide what is in front of you. John.
