Hiyah Peoples!

Okay, I'll try this again . . . . anybody having VV problems with the New MS Media Player CODEC9? More specifically in conjunction with Real Player renders within VV.

I've read this on the Cow Site at:

http://www.creativecow.net/index.php?forumid=24

There is a Sharing Video from one of VV Forum contributors over at Chienworks site, that when I commence to download, MS Media Player is making me "sign" for this new CODEC9. Should I shouldn't I? That's the question!

Please respond as I'm not wanting to miss out - but at the same time I reeeeally dont wanna "trash" anything in my new Vegas Video install - yeah?

Grazie

Grazie, go to http://www.dc1000.org for detailed discussion on the new codec. I am using it now with no problems. Haven't tried encoding directly from tape yet but 7.x did it fairly well so likely this manifestation does it even better.

Don't expect to encode any WMV material with WMVCodec9 in Vegas 3.0(c). From what I've read in this Forum, it's not compatible. You might want to wait until you have VV4..that is compatible and will allow you to encode in 5.1 with the new plugIn.
Bottom line is..if you install WMV9 use still can't use it with VV3.0(c).

Thanks Steve - Now THAT'S the reason I was looking for to upgrade to V4!

Where is there a detailed discussion at http://www.dc1000.org? I don't see anything about it, I even did a search from the past 30 days.
