MS with DVD Lab Disc Failure

Had an interesting development while completing my first DVD. Imported MS MPEG file into DVD Lab which needed to correct the audio file. When I selected to burn the disc, the program went through the process only to indicate some problem at the 98-99 % mark. Can't remember the exact details but was prefaced with a DVDlib exclamation and four potential scenarios. The disc was a Memorex 4X DVD+R. After doing this twice I then took the DVD Lab file and imported into the TEMGenc DVD Author program and used its writing program to burn the DVD on the same memorex type disc. Everything worked like a charm. I guess my question could be does DVD Lab sometimes seem to prefer certain discs? Now the only problem I see with the TEMGenc program is it only works with the +RW/+R standards. This stuff sure can get complex quickly. :)

Are you sure DVDLab needed to correct the audio, rather than just demuxing it? I've never had any problem importing MPEGs made in VF! Which template did you use for the render?

I've no idea whether DVDLab is picky about discs - someone on the DVDLab Forum could probably help if you don't get an answer here.

Sorry, but I'm at work and don't recall the template. Too new at this stuff. I can check when I get home and clarify.

Oh I forgot to mention that using a Fuji +R the DVD Lab produced the disc with no problem.

My audio file was listed as inappropriate due to it being 44khz vs 48khz. When the program asked if I wanted it to "transcode" the audio I selected yes. You probably used the correct term with "demuxing it. I will check out the DVD Lab forum. Thanks for the link.

No, I was wrong - DVDLab was objecting to the audio. If you render using one of the DVD templates, the audio will be at the right sampling rate. "Demuxing" is splitting the video and audio into separate files, which is an option when you import the MPEG.

Just checked the settings used in the rendering and apparently I chose correctly. Template: DVD NTSC, Audio 224 kbps, 48000 hz layer 2 video 29.97, 720X480. States this will make a compliant MPEG 2 Video and MPEG 2 audio. Guess something didn't come out right according to the DVD Lab analysis. Will try again tonight with different discs.
Thanks for the input.

BTW: This was the prompt I got when the DVDLab writing program stopped on the Memorex discs:
DVDLIB !
