ms10 Plat quits working after short time

Just upgraded from ms9 plat. 10 works great for awhile then slows down and quits as I add more images and video, If I save the project and reboot the computer I can do more editing and add more media for awhile. It just "chokes" as I add media. Using Win7 32bit dual core with 4g ram and 3gb hard drive space. vms9 worked well when I made some changes to prefs, but I can remember what I did. Eugenia had some tips that worked great for 9. Anything similar for setup for 10? Thanks.

What kind of video format your footage is exactly, from which camera?

New Canon SX30IS 1280x720 .mov files. I just rebooted and none of the that I had put into the timeline show in the preview window - just a solid color preview screen. When I previewed the timeline, a message appeared that windows needed to close programs because of low memory. ms10 doesn't seem to be handling memory correctly. I was told that ms10 improved .mov file handling. Thanks

Did you look through previous posts or do a Search? Here's a (very) recent one that may help:

Thanks, I did the 2GB memory cap fix for the .exe (couldn't find some of the other comparable files that were in ms9 - the PE10k.dll was already checked for "> than 2gig address space) and that seems to have fixed the problem. Rarely, I still only get audio when I preview a file, but I can deal with that by simply "opening in player" to see the video before dragging to timeline. I, too, thank everyone for contributing to this forum. Movie Studio is a great program when it is working properly.

Well, I spoke to soon. I was able to do more editing without a problem, but now when I try to play back the timeline, there is no video in the preview window - just solid color. A message box came up to send a snapshot to Sony and I did, but I don't expect to hear from them. Another message referenced "microsoft sound mapper doesn't exist". Any suggestions? Thanks.
