MS13 OK on WIn10

I was one of the lucky ones who got the final production version of Win10 installed and activated before Microsoft pulled the plug on doing that. I can verify that Movie Studio 13 installs and runs fin on Win10.

PS: does anyone know where the settings are stored? I'd like to copy them over from my old Win7 disk, but I haven't been able to find where they are.

If 13 is like previous versions, they're in the Registry.

...I am getting a message "Microsoft Sound Mapper missing" using the Win 10 that was released today.

Anyone found a way around this?

Thanks,

Bryan.

Some settings such as layouts are on disk under your AppData\Roaming folder (normally hidden in the Windows Explorer). This folder path is displayed in View > Organize Layouts. You can copy the .VegasWindowLayout files to the appropriate path on your new machine and they will show up in the available layouts list in Organize Layouts.

I don't advise trying to transfer settings across machines. Machine-specific preferences (paths, hardware settings, etc.) are mixed together with non-specific settings (General, Display, Editing, etc.). You could end up having to reset your prefs anyway just to get Vegas to run. Settings are incompatible across different versions (eg 12 vs. 13), Vegas will ignore them.

You'd better spend your time making a list of the settings that you normally customize.

I'm having serious issues with MSP13 on Win 10 on a 2.5 yr old HP Desktop. MSP13 ran fine on Win 8.1 but now I am unable to resize tracks or to resize different parts within the MSP13 Window. I already contacted support and am awaiting their reply. Be cautious.
