MTC and Ruler Time are two separate settings. If you want them to be the same, then just set them the same. BTW, you can also set the Time display to follow MTC was well. (Vegas 4 was the same way)

Thank you for ansering
Here's my problem: I dont know how to make the MTC reflect the time ruler...
Time ruler (SMPT Non-drop 29,97 Video)
Ruler start 00:59:00:00, my project strat at 01:00:00:00, I got a beep for syncronisation at 00:59:58:00 (got the same on a Betacam SP) To slave the SP I have to send MTC of the same value
So where sould I go to change the MTC to reflect that, I looked into all the properties did'nt find anyting
Thanks again

Try this - place the cursor at the project start. right click on the *ruler* and you should see an option for "Set time at cursor". Choose this - now you get a little text window at the cursor. Set your time there and it should update the entire timeline. Yes? No?

Thanks everybody I found it
V3 did not permit a 24 hours timeline, V5 do
My solution is to setup the ruler start time to 00:00:00:00
Put the ruler format at SMPT non drop 29,97 same for the frame rate of the midi time code device
Position my projet at 01:00:00:00 and my external time code reader (Rosentall) read exacly the same time code as my ruler
The funny thing is that the time code reader of Vegas (upper left counter) does not match but the midi output does, Maybe V5 is compensate for the non drop factor

Great...

>>>The funny thing is that the time code reader of Vegas (upper left counter) does not match but the midi output does<<<

Just right click on the TC reader window and tell it you want it to read (display) the MTC output. Options are:

Time at Cursor
MIDI Timecode In
MIDI Timecode Out
MIDI Clock

That exacly what I said:
The Midi timecode out reader ''that I have selected'' does not does not match the time ruler
But the MTC produced at the midi output match (verified on a external MTC/LTC reader

Still a bit confused because for me The funny thing is that the time code reader of Vegas (upper left counter) does not match but the midi output does means that the time code reader does *not* match the output - so I explained how to change the setting to show MTC output, but I guess that is not what you wanted. So I am not sure what you are saying - sorry.

But here is what I did to check:

I set MTC to run. I chose 30fps. I set monitor window to show MTC. I also set MTC to run. (F7 for keyboard shortcut) I hit play on the timeline and the TC monitor shows, and says, MTC out. To check to see if this was the same number as the SMPTE I would switch the monitor over to SMPTE and it was frame on. So in my case the timeline, output window and MTC all matched. So maybe someone else can understand the question better and give you a better answer than I seem to be able to.

Thanks for following

The only difference on your setup and mine is that I am using SMPT non-drop 29,97 instead of 30 non drop
I did try 30 non drop and the ruler and MTC reader match
But I have to use 29,97 non drop, this format is the format of LTC on the Betacam SP I have to slave
But like I said my problem is solved, MTC reader not accurate is not important as long as the midi output is accurate
If you have time try the ruler at 29,97 non drop, MTC output format 29,97 non drop the reader should be matching at 00:00:00:00 but go at 10:00:00:00 on the ruler and and the MTC reader reads 09:59:24:01, (at that point my External Reader reads 10:00:00:00 and my Betacam SP reads 10:00:00:00)

Hope I making sense
