I'm not trying to keep this thread alive, but a friend asked what cams were used.. so thought I'd share if anyone is interested. (;

2 Sanyo Xacti FH1A (one cam's focus drifted so could not use the video except for overlay effect on a couple scenes.) The other one was covering the front of the band.

Kodak Playsport covered the drummer and bass player on the right.

TM700 was used as a roving cam for close-ups on the left side.

I just used some Color Correction (secondary) in an attempt to get the colors from the different cams close.

They do sound good. Do you mean they never even rehearsed together before this shoot, or just have not played together extensively?

Kimberly, Glad you liked it. Yes, they did not rehearse before this gig. They have not played together as a group either. Many of the tunes they did were standards except for a few originals which they improved on.

My favorite part of the video was the drum solo and where the bassist improvised that squeeky cuica sound and the guitarist on the left was making the coconut percussion sound with this guitar.

I really enjoy editing music I like because I can listen to the tune a 100 times while I edit and still enjoy the video at the end. (;

Byron, loved it. Not too sure about the dodgy double exposure?

I have it playing at the moment, and really brought a smile to my chops.

Your friend sounded a wee bit George Benson-ish.

Thanks for taking the time to bring it back to my attention.

Toodles

Grazie

Lol! Yea the double exposure was quite cheezy and was my futile attempt to salvage what little I could from that darn focus drift cam.

As far as Danny's guitar sound yes, you have a good ear. He's a big George Benson fan and also does a nice Earl Klugh style when he plays nylon.

Glad you enjoyed it!
