very cool, this is like a window into the future (ok, like 6 days into the future, but still), looks like there is a lot of new stuff to learn comin down the pipe here. Glad we got some training coming too.

Thanks Spot. Looks like you posted this fairly late at night--not many folks here now. I'm sure they'll love it when they wake up and come by.

Great previews... keep 'em comin'! The buzz is building...

Spot -
Great preview -

would you mind commenting on that MOST INTERESTING workspace layout?

I love the audio mixer up there, as well as a source window? to the right.
And how do you get thumbnails? Can you animate them to the actual footage contained?

Is this do-able in Vegas 7? or is it a new feature in 8?

very, very impressive spot, thanks. :)

It looks like the location of the event name on the timeline is also based on the camera that is selected? :) Handy!

Sweet!

Vic, the relocation of the preview window/timeline has *always* been doable in Vegas since version 3. In Vegas 7 it became an option in the preferences, but some folks likely remember that even on the Vegas 4 and 5 tours, we were showing reversed timeline. Thumbnails are animated, it's video in the preview window, not stills. Live playback/edting works identically in Vegas 8 as it has with previous versions of Vegas and Ultimate S/Excalibur.

Thanks Spot -

Ya gotta remember...

taking one of your classes is like jumping into a sweet warm bubblebath.
It feels great.
You come out cleaner, leaner and smarter.
And two days later you can't remember half of the FLOOD of great stuff that you REALLY WANTED only two days before.

Nowwww.... I remember that you taught us how to do that... yeah... and save the layout you love. But how???

OK - sign me up for the new training disc package.
I'm down...

Meanwhile... the excitement builds...
