Multicam Project revisited

Howdy all

Im new to this forum, Ive been using Vegas Video Professionally for about 2 years. I work for Fox TV and have been producing for about 10 years. I love this program it makes a once rediculous complex and costly art available without headsplitting reality checks and without a serious dent in the pocket book. Anyway enough about me, I have a problem and was hoping you guys could finger it out for me. I Produce live concert documentaries mostly 5 cameras or more. I have synched them together on the time line no problem and until now have been putting the best shot up top and just cutting the bad to go to my next track down and so forth. I was wondering is there a way to do AB editing with 5 or more tracks so I could just mark where to take on each track without having to cut holes in everything. It seems I always go out of synch when I do this. Any Ideas whould help. Thanks

To do multiple cameras, whenever I want to change cameras I always to a CTRL-A and S. Then, for each segment, I take the desired camera and move it using 8 on the numeric keypad to a top "final" line. So, for 5 cameras, I would have 6 video tracks and the top line would be my final cut. By using the 8 key on the numpad to move it, you don't have to worry about moving the clip left or right and getting out of sync.

Hi Tex

To keep from leaving holes you might try ctrl-drag to copy clips, rather than simple drag that relocates clips.

You can also do a trick setting markers on the fly and using a mic to call the shots...
