OK ,I may be an idiot, but I know it...OK
(johnmyer, thanks for the media and bitriate info, problem was the memorex junk)
Fixing to attempt first multicam edit and have read all posts I can find, but there dosen't seem to be a good tutorial (that I can find anyway) out there that shows how to do this within vegas. Lots of do this and do that, but would like little more detail if possible.
If I'm asking to much I will apologize in advance.

If you are using Vpro8 look at the help file for multicam edit. Just make sure if you are applying fx to the footage you apply it to the footage in the media pool or else it will not take once you start a multi-cam edit from within Vegas.

If you are using Ultimate S or Excalibur you can apply fx to the events on the timeline.

What specific questions do you have?

Yes I have Vpro8
Really nothing in pitcular at this time.Just trying to be prepared when I start. I recently done a couple of multicam events and spent hours upon hours watching, cutting, syncing, pasteing, etc...not using the multicam feature and have come to conclusion there has to be a better (faster) way. The events I've done did come out really nice but took way to much time.
I've just realized its time for me to cut bait and learn this multicam feature. I do not have Ultimate S or Excalibur unless it came with vp8

Thanks and I'll check out the help file and hope there is more info there than what was in the manual

Let us know if the help file does not "help" you.

Also, Ultimate S or Excalibur does not come included in Vegas. Both are available as plugins and fit nicely into Vegas. It would be nice if one of these came packaged with Vegas pro 9.

The best thing you can invest in if you're going to do multicam editing on a steady basis is a Contour Shuttle-Pro controller. About $80 from B&H. Reassign a few of the buttons to turn multicam on and off and to select cameras on the fly and you're really cooking.

Really important part is to match the cameras' exposure and white balance [yes, this can be fixed in post] but you're much better off to get it right to start. Then minor tweaks in post may be all that's needed.

It would be helpful if you'd let us in on the type of multicam shooting you do. Any advice we may give would have to be tailored to your particular needs, otherwise a book could be written on the subject.

I will check this out

Yes, I am running 3 vx2100's at the most , and usually a minumum of 2 vx 2100 at any one time. I try to duplicate settings on all. Although, sometimes I have to tweak a pictular camera usually because of lighting conditions

Well, this started out as just myself messing around with video production a little over a year ago, mostly doing photography at the time, and has grown to doing weekly football highlight videos(during season) for a couple of schools, wedding videos, high school drama club (plays) videos and most recently have been asked to do hunting video's. I do get a kick out of taking that raw footage and making it into something that somewhat resembles a professional video. I have gotten so busy that i have hired some help with the actual shooting. I just wish I had the knowledge or half the knowledge of most the guys on here and I could really turn out some footage!!! Its still really fun at this point and I must say that all of the support that you guys offer really makes it that much more enjoyable!!
Thanks Everyone
