Multicamera Editing with 2 long takes in Pro 8.

I have 2 long takes of 1 hour each of the same event.
1. Can I edit within those takes in Multicamera editing??
2. When trying to use multi editing the preview screen is blank white except for the blue highlighted upper left corner, but no video is in it, -just white. Scrolling the video doesn't change it. I followed the directions in the online help to the letter.
Thanks,
Drew
p.s. I'm not up on all the professional video jargon, but I have been an amateur since consumer video cameras were 1st introduced in the late 70s. Before that 8mm & Super 8 film.

I have a slide presentation on doing this with Vegas, not with multicam but with the VASST Quadcam script:

and click on the ANNIE graphic.

I use multicam regularly with takes of an hour or more. Works great!

1. Sync your tracks.
2. Name your tracks (CAM 1, CAM 2 or WIDE, CU. or...).
3. Control Click each track to select both, or three or four.
4. TOOLS>Create Multicamera track.
5. TOOLS>Enable multicam editing
You should have your tracks displayed in the monitor, the one on top with a border.
6. Edit by clicking on the displayed tracks in the monitor, or track number.

Thanks Guys! I'll give the slide show a look. & I'll follow your instructions Ralph right after the project I'm rendering is done.
I had done everything you said to do except that I didn't name my tracks. The takes/clips have different names, but not the tracks I dropped them into.

Solved it !

The problem was the preview quality setting. I always have mine on Best. For whatever reason, that setting resulted in the blank white previews. I changed it to Good & voila I get video preview in both panes. Now I can edit !

Thanks guys for your efforts !
