Multichannel LPCM Audio?

I've been using DVD-Architect for many revisions and have been surprised that one feature is not included for Blu-Ray. Why isn't there an option for multichannel LPCM output (non-AC3)? For those of us who don't want to purchase a Meridian license (at >$3K) to do packed PCM on a DVD-Audio disc, a Blu-Ray disc with LPCM output would be great.

The really funny thing is that none of the other <$500 Blu-Ray authoring software seem to have a multichannel LPCM option either. I must be missing something. Is there a reason that multichannel LPCM would be more difficult than AC3 to include? Is there some licensing agreement for PCM - even though PCM isn't trademarked / licensed / copyrighted / patented?

I must be missing something...I'm hoping someone here might be able to enlighten me.

One hour of 6-channel PCM audio uses up about 2GB of media space, IIRC.
That is enough reason for me to have little interest in it for optical disc delivery.

Even with a 25GB disc (or 50GB)?

6-channels * 3 bytes per sample (24 bits) * 96,000 samples / sec * 3600 seconds = 6.2GB - still willing to use that for high quality audio when it's needed.
