multiple clips on timeline

I have a short interview on the timeline, multiple clips put together carefully. Is it possible to move all the clips at once down the timeline? Or am I going to have to do it clip at a time and reorganize?

Just select them all and then move them. The selection tool can be used to select them along with many other methods.

There is one way. Select the first event, hold Shift, select last event and move them.
There are other ways.

Ok.
location: on the top toolbar, in the middle. Just past undo/redo, you have "enable snapping", "automatic crossfades" and then "auto ripple". Green box, with arrow over it.

How it works.

Lets say you have 10 clips, and you want to move 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 to the right.
Drag 4, to the right - 5,6,7,8,9,10 will move with it. No hassle.

I definitely don't mean this as a put-down, so please don't take it that way.

It sounds like you may be new to Vegas, and may not know about the file that contains the complete documentation for the program. When I first started using Vegas several years ago, someone on the forum recommended to me that I take the installation disc to Kinkos and have the documentation file printed and bound. It's about 300 pages long, and has a wealth of information. I still refer to it when I'm stuck.

Also, if you haven't run across it yet, there is an excellent set of DVD available on the VAAST website that will take you step by step through just about every function in Vegas.

You have an excellent suggestion. I will look into getting the documentatino printed out. If it wasn't for the Class on demand Vegas 4. with Douglas Spotted Eagle I never would have been able to use Vegas. Went on to complete training for vegas 7 it gave a big boost. Vasst Veg. 8 was not very helpful as I had hoped just touching on the new features revealed. I did order the Pro Titler can't figure it out at all. The suggestions are a good ones.
