Multiple cuts

I will be putting together a video of still shots from the current high school football season. Is there an easy way to make all the shots the same, short length, so they are in time with a stacatto-type music track? I've tried to do this manually, but it doesn't work very well.

3 ways to do this.
First is to use the "slide show to markers" script that's a part of the collection at the Calderwood site.
The 2nd is to adjust the amount of time the image is up there (options - prefs - editing - new still image length).
3rd is to put them up at the normal length. Then click the first image in the sequence, shift-click the last, "G" to group them and CTRL-drag to the desired length.
