Multiple fixes, never works

Maaaars wrote on 2/9/2022, 6:23 PM

Over the past week or so I have tried to install the trial version of Vegas Pro 19. It had now worked. I have looked over many threads throughout these forums and Reddit and still cannot seem to find a fix. Every time I have tried to install this program it gives me this error:

I have meticulously uninstalled and reinstalled EVERY c++ runtime/redistributable I could find, restarting my computer each time, all to no avail. Here are all of them I have installed:

I am extremely interested in the Vegas Pro 19 editing software and wish I could use it. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do in this situation? Thank you.

Are you downloading and installing the trial version of Vegas Pro 19 via the 'Free Trial' button on Vegas Pro's official product web page at https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-edit/ ?

The reason I ask is that the splash screen screenshot that you have uploaded says that you are trying to install Vegas Pro 15 build 177 which was (I think) the first build of Vegas Pro 15, and Vegas Pro 15 was released nearly 4.5 years ago and is no longer available for sale from Vegas/MAGIX.

If you have downloaded the trial version from a website that is not an offical Vegas website or an official Vegas reseller's website, and it purports to offer you a trial of Vegas Pro 19 but actually gives you Vegas Pro 15 - be wary.

@Maaaars Yes, where did you download your trial version from?

RogerS wrote on 2/9/2022, 8:40 PM

While there's no way you got that VP 15 trial from Magix. If you have the same issue with 19 here's a source for C+++ runtimes. While you're at it download multiple .net frameworks too.

Big apologies everyone, I posted some of the wrong screenshots. I accidentally showed you the screenshot of when I tried downloading Vegas Pro 15 from some other website, just to test if an older version worked. I can assure you that the same exact error is occurring for Vegas Pro 19 when downloaded from Sony's official website:

RogerS, I have used that net installer you linked as the exact source I used for c++ runtimes before, which unfortunately didn't work (I tried multiple times). However, regarding downloading multiple .net frameworks, I have never heard of that, could you please elaborate? Again, sorry for the hassle and confusion I have caused everyone.

And, I think that we see the problem.

@Maaaars

What does Sony have to do with this?

Vegas Pro 18 Edit, Vegas Movie Studio 16 Platinum, Magix Video Pro X16, Magix Movie Studio Platinum 2024, Xara Designer Pro X19, Samplitude Pro X8 Suite, Music Maker 2025 Premium, SF Audio Cleaning Lab 4, Sound Forge Pro 16 and more.

Again, have you downloaded Vegas Pro 19 from Vegas Pro 19's website as given earlier? If you are downloading from a website purporting to have Sony Vegas Pro 19, then that is almost certainly a scam or pirate website. Sony has had nothing to do with Vegas Pro for the last 6 years or so since they sold Vegas Pro to MAGIX - https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/sony-vegas-vs-vegas--119881/ . Sony's official website will simply not have Vegas Pro 19 available for download.

Are you on Windows 10?

Let me see if I can find a link for .net. Try NET Framework 4.8 and 6 and potentially even both x64 and 32-bit varieties.

You might also need to install the deep learning modules 19.1.0.0. link

@RogerS What more must a user do before you understand that he's trying to install a pirated version of Vegaspro and therefore he's not welcome here?

RogerS wrote on 2/10/2022, 12:23 AM

I don't get why someone would pirate a trial as it's free.

If a mod decides this user is violating forum rules he can be dealt with.

Do you really believe that he is trying to install a trial?

EricLNZ wrote on 2/10/2022, 2:16 AM

Hey guys I think we need to back off a little here. There's enough conflict in the world without us adding to it.

  1. In civilised countries a person is innocent until they are proven guilty
  2. Many video makers out there in the world, who don't regularly frequent the Vegas forums, still look on Vegas as "Sony Vegas"
  3. Our poster has Build 458 which is the most recent which was released only a few months ago.

Yes, I believe (until it's proved otherwise) that he is trying to install a trial of Vegas Pro 19.

3POINT wrote on 2/10/2022, 4:26 AM

I'm not adding conflicts to this world, but I am immensely annoyed when it's that obvious that a first time poster is trying to get help here with a pirated version for Vpro and that forummembers help without being critical. To me this is indirect support to the illegal use of Vegaspro.

  • First showing screenshot of VP15 (also trial?, were can you download a trial or a full version of VP15?)

I accidentally showed you the screenshot of when I tried downloading Vegas Pro 15 from some other website, just to test if an older version worked. I can assure you that the same exact error is occurring for Vegas Pro 19 when downloaded from Sony's official website:

  • He has been directed by a critical forum member to the official Vegas download site for a trial, before. Still talking about Sony Vegas!

  1. We're here not at court, it's not about proven guilty or not guilty. It's about decency.
  2. Show me a sincere starting video maker who knows Sony Vegas but doesn't know Magix Vegas.
  3. Pirated versions are just released a few days after release of official versions.

Wow this post is popular. Regarding the Vegas pro 15 install I was recommended by a friend to see if it would work, a troubleshooting strategy persay. So yes you guys caught me, I do believe it is a cracked version that I was not previously aware about. But if we IGNORE that screenshot and realize someone made a mistake I'm hoping I can get this problem fixed. I dont know how many times I can stress that I downloaded the trial version FROM THE LEGITIMATE SITE. @john-brown regarding you question on "what does sony have to do with this?" Well I originally thought that these forums were a place to help and guide people through Vegas Pro and perhaps even the installation. My apologies if I posted my question in the wrong section or something. @RogerS yes I do have windows 10 (PC specs: r5 3600, gtx 1050 ti, 16 gb ram) and I'm going to try your fix later today :). Again apologies if this is the wrong forum to ask anything but I do appreciate all the help I can get as I've been trying to solve this problem for the past week. @3POINT sorry if I upset you in any way, that is not my intention and I am trying to download the legitimate trial version of Vegas 19 Pro. Thank you everyone for the assistance.

@ Maaaars When you experience the same installing issues with the legitimate trial version of VP19, of course than you are more than welcome here.

Maaaars wrote on 2/10/2022, 9:09 AM

@3POINT thank you for understanding

jetdv wrote on 2/10/2022, 1:39 PM

The error message says it couldn't create a directory. Sounds like a permissions issue to me. I'd right-click the installer and choose "Run as Administrator".

3POINT wrote on 2/11/2022, 12:39 PM

Since there's no further response from @Maaaars, I assume the installation and registration of the legitimate trial version of VP19 occurred without further issues.
