I'm not sure about the Studio version, but you can add the same clip several times, then double click on each instance, view the Timeline and drag the flags to set in and out points.

DVDA will pick up the fact that it's the same clip and not add to the space used.

No problem; it works the same as the Pro version in this (and most) respects.

Thanks for you help but I did not see how I could add another version of the video without it also being part of the menu or chapter.

Why would you want multiple in and out points if they can't be accessed by being available on a Menu?

You can do this by dragging the clip from the Explorer Window to the top of the Project Window. If you just want the trimmed clips to play in sequence you can add them to a playlist. You are likely to experience a slight pause between them when they play, though.
