Multiple miniDVDs to one full size DVD

The folks in the Athletic dept. at the college I work for shoot their varsity games on miniDVD (I know, I warned them about the pitfalls!!) .
The problem arises when they have 2 or 3 miniDVDs that they want to combine onto one full-size DVD.
Am I correct in thinking that the easiest way is to import all the files into Vegas and then render or is there a better/easier way to do this?

Are you doing any editing? If not, don't bother rendering. Just use the Import > DVD Camcorder Disc function. Vegas will create MPEG2 files that you can bring directly into DVD Architect (or whatever authoring app you're using). (Technically, they're already MPEG2, but they're also split up into 1GB chunks. Vegas joins the individual VOBs of each title.)

This assumes that the camcorder in question creates standard discs, and not DVD-RAM or some nonsense. ;)

Rob, no, there won't be any editing as all he wants to do is combine 2 or 3 (standard) minis into one full size..
I've worked with miniDVDs in the past but only with students having shot on one for import into a project.
As I said, I just wanted tomake sure there wasn't an easier way that I was overlooking.
Thanks for the suggestion.

There are programs that will allow you to do this without re-encoding. TMPGEnc by Pegysus makes a DVD author program that does this very well. It might cost more than you want to spend, but is good for those quick DVD authoring or re-authoring jobs.
