Multiple projects (.veg)

I created many MusicVideo Project (.veg) files, ALL in DV format. Then I tought of making some sort of compilation by importing the rendered DV Format files into a new project, I noticed that the rendered result was NOT as clear as the original ones, as if there was some sort of image quality degradation as I reencode the files, always in DV format...

My question: Is there a way to import a .veg project into an existing one ???

You shouldn't be seeing degradation like that. In any case, to "open" one project in another, open two instances of Vegas then select and copy as many clips as you want from the original project and paste them into your new project in the other instance of Vegas.

Will try that for sure... Thanks much Jason...

What I ment by degration was that some videoclips have strong blues or reds and I noticed that after 2 or 3 DV format renders the strong colours have a tendency to bleed a bit too much...

Thanks again for the info...

Larkero, you say after a few renders ... Hmmmm. SonicFoundry's DV codec has been known to hold up to 50 generations of renders before there is any noticeable degradation. It sounds like you might not be using their codec. Under Options / Preferences make sure you have "Ignore third party codecs" checked and "Use Microsoft DV codec" UNchecked.

For that matter, if you're doing no additional editing then there shouldn't be any rendering going on at all; the new file should just be a bit-for-bit copy of the original files. Make sure you're not applying any filters or effects at all. The compositing level slider in the track header should be set to 100%. If there are any changes at all then a re-render will be forced and this can alter the quality of the video.
