multiple questions, hopefully with easy answers!

1 - i originally had the problem that when i entered a veloctiy envelope, or slowed down/sped up a video on a track - that when i mixed it down it would be REALLY REALLY choppy. I found in this forum that the fix was to highlight all video tracks, and right click - and go to "resample". I do that, and of course it worked. BUT - it still DOESNT look like normal just slow motion/fast motion. There is some pretty noticable "flaws" (i wanna say deterrieration (however it's spelled))....i cant really describe it though. It's more less just greatly improved choppiness from what it used to be - but i can still see it that, although it does flow more smoothly. any other tips in that department to cure that?
2 - I am trying to show a video on the full screen, and on the left side, scroll small pictures from top to bottom. I know i'm supposed to do this with all that event stuff, but i've read the help, etc. etc. - and can't seem to get it. Anyone got some tips on that? Perhaps an easier to follow guide to using it?
3 - Next comes doing something like the brady bunch's intro - Where each family member is on the screen in a little box, etc. In my case, i want to do it with just 4 boxes - and a different video in each box. Simple way to do this? simple to add a border to it? I am once again assuming its done with the event thing....
4 - Yes, i have a budget camcorder - Sharps new viewcam. It looks good, but of course not PRO. But, once i DO have good lighting and a great shot - as good as the camera will get it - how can i make that BETTER? I know everyone here is thinking - learn about video etc. etc., learn about brigihtness cue sharpness etc. etc. haha. BUT - i'm looking for a quick easy fix. I'm just making ameteaur videos, and am just interested mostly in getting a "movie look" with a simple plugin that i can play with - hopefully one that will run great with vegas!

I'm sure I'll have some more, i made a list at one point but lost it now. So this is a good start you think? lol. Thanks to anyone who can conquer these, or lead me in another direction to figure it out. THANKS AGAIN!

Hi Scott:
Welcome to the Forum. You can do almost everything and anything you want with Vegas...but it does takes some investment in your time to learn. Check out the tutorials on the Vegas website and do a Forum search on "tutorials" on each of the four topics in your message. That's about the "quickest quick fix" there is in any software program. Try to keep your messages focused on one topic, too. That way other Forum users can quickly repond to each one.

1. Try reduce interlace flicker. Additionally, try render to a new track in "Best" quality.

2. One tip is to set "Smooth" to 0. This way the scroll speed will remain constant. There are a couple of samples of what you are looking for here: www.sundancemediagroup.com/help/download.html . Lots of other great stuff there as well.

3. The simplest way IMHO is to have a solid color on the bottom track, then resize each window using event/pan/crop or track motion. Leave a little space between each video box and your border will show through. Track motion also has borders built in to it.

4. Play around with Bright/Cont, Color Curves, HSL. There are tutorials on this as well.

Hi Shackrock,

So we start on the right line, any single thing in the timeline is an "event"... an event can *contain* sound, video or graphic. Your program will be a series of events.

You can modify events by adding FX and modify all the events in a track using FX on a whole track.

A quick tip...

Each element you want to move around or position onscreen should be on its own track, then you could use track-motion to move/size/position.

Elements in the higher tracks will appear in-front of elements in the lower tracks, also known as appearing in the foreground.

i.e. If you want text to appear on video, place it on a track above the video track.
