Multiple Text Problems....

I'm sure someone must have run into this before, but I have searched the forums and have not found an answer.

When I am editing in VMS4, most of the time when I hit the capital "T" on the tool bar, I will get just one Text box on the timeline. But occasionally, I will get three (one on each line of video). This is annoying at the very least cause I have to delete the extra text boxes and it slows my work flow. How do I stop this from happening?

I know I posted this only a few days ago, but has no one else had this problem? This was a problem with Video Factory 1+2. Also happened in Sony Movie Studio 3. Now it is happening in Vegas Movie Studio 4. The real problem is once the multiple Text boxes start, it never stops in that particular project! It is driving me nuts.

Which reminds me of a joke. A pirate walks into a bar with a steering wheel sticking out of the front of his pants. The bartender asks "What's up with the steering wheel". And the pirate replies, "Aaargg, it's drivin' me nuts!"

Anyway, someone please reply and let me know how I can stop the multiple text box problem.

It sounds to me like you've got all three video tracks selected. Click on the track header for the track you want the text on first. This will deselect the other two tracks.

Thank you for the reply. You are right about the problem. I realize that I often type "control-A" to select everything so I can lock it in place. But I forget to then select just one track. I knew it was a simple answer. Thank you.
