multiple videos playing on one screen

I'm trying to find out how to create a video with multiple clips playing at the same time on one screen. Can anyone tell me the proper terminology for this, and how it's done?

You'll often see this referred to as PiP (picture in picture).

Place each clip on a separate track. Use Pan/Crop to drag the cropping rectangle out larger. This shrinks the image. Move the cropping rectangle around to position the image in one of the corners.

If you have version 6 or 7 there's also a track motion feature that accomplishes something similar. Some folks find it easier than Pan/Crop.
