multithreaded renders

I just got a new box with an AMD X2 proc and I can't get it to give me 100% when rendering AVI like I have on other boxes and it was automatically set to 4 threads. It pretty much hovers at 53-55%.Am I overlooking something? "Disable Multi-processor AVI rendering" is not checked.

It depends on the FX you use. Try using some regular Event FX and take a look at the CPU usage when rendering again. It's 100 percent on my AMD X2 4.200+.

Some of my confusion with this is due to working on this project using nested timelines. If I open one of the nested timelines and either prerender or render to AVI I get 100% CPU usage. However, if I try to prerender or render to AVI that same nested timeline while in the main timeline I only get 53-60%. I guess it's best to run a prerender inside the nested timelines as it should save time in the final render.
