Multitrack Audio Recording

I plan to use Vegas to record 8 channels of simultaneous audio. My interface will be a MOTU Traveler.

My question. Compared to Vegas 4 & 5, are there any technical reasons why Vegas 6 would be better for this purpose? Is there a benefit to reverting to an earlier, simpler version?

I'd appreciate your input!

No benefit one way or the other, IMO. All versions are great for live multitracking. The Traveler does have some sharing issues, but as long as you leave it as the only device on the bus, you'll be fine. I don't believe the issues are Vegas related, Audition users report issues too. (I know you didn't ask about the Traveler, but wanted to bring it up in case you have troubles)
