Music Compilation DVD

Does anyone have any idea what the maximum length of a music compilation DVD can be with minimal photo or video elements? I recently converted about 350 CDs in my music collection to MP3 and store those files on four data DVDs. If I could get a similar number of songs on a DVD-A music compilation, I might be able to retire my CD-Changer.

The DVD player connected to my main system (Pioneer DV 414) doesn't play MP3 files, so this would be a way to work around this limitation without buying another DVD player. Pride prevents me from hooking up the $50 Mintek DVD player my kids use as a way to get MP3 to my main system (though I am pretty impressed with what it can do relative to its cost).

Would like to hear if others have tried something like this or if I should just get another DVD player.

I made a Music Compilation DVD using DVD-A. I put 99 tracks on it, each with an image to go along with the file name. You can only have 99 "chapters" and so in some ways 99 is the limit. However a possible workaround is to put several 99-chapter music compilations on one DVD, each with its own Sub Menu. I haven't tried that technique yet. The 99 tracks made about 4 and a half hours of music and the total of the file sizes on the .VOB files is about 1.2 gb and so theoretically it takes up about 25% of a DVD.
