What's the verdict on basic music creation software to be used with Vegas for background music etc. The emphasis should be on ease of use for someone who is not a musician. I've looked at Session and Mackie Traction to name just two. Session looks like it might be right but I'm not sure that it will run with my ATI Mobility x1400 chip.

Any and all opinions are welcome. That's how I learn, and so far it has worked wonders with Vegas.

Also, any advice on USB keyboards (M-audio?) would also be welcome.
