music for use in Vegas

In trying to find music for use in a Vegas project, I find music I buy as a single from an internet site cannot be imported for use in Vegas. I'm getting tired of buying a whole CD when wanting just one song. Is there some conversion program,... or something that I can do to the internet bought music so that it is useable in Vegas?

I use sony's free Acid Express 7 + free loops packs (called 8packs) to create my own music. Example: http://www.vimeo.com/4468401

The workaround with iTunes music is this: burn the files to an audio cd, then rip the music to your drive again as mp3.

For audio & video files that the Sony programs won't accept I use a free conversion program called FormatFactory (Formatoz.com). It handles a lot of formats and it hasn't choked on anything I've fed it.

You might like to look at Free Play Music as a source of theme music. Quite a wide selection available.

Providing you are not producing videos commercially all you have to do is place an acknowledgement of Free Play Music in the credits of your video.
You might also find Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio useful as your audio editor for use in conjunction with VMS.

Music on CD from iTunes will not load into Vegas. Go To CD Freaks Forum and download iTurns. It strips away all the roadblocks iTunes put on their program. iTurns is a free download and works great. You will then be able to use any music in your iTunes library once it has been put through iTurns.

Nice sites suggestions, thanks!

Another alternative for a lot of nice royalty-free music is Digital Juice. I'm new to their stuff, but so far I really like it.

The Digital Juice music is good .. and the StackTraxx version is especially versitale .. but none of what they offer is free (aside from the occasional free download)

If you really want/need a specific selection / volume than go ahead and buy it, but if you can wait .. eventually .. most things will go on-sale .. sometimes for a day or weekend so you need to check often.
