The only thing that comes to mind is the theme from The Godfather

Find some selections sung by Mario Lanza, Ezio Pinza, The Three Tenors, or Andrea Bocelli. Then get some selections by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Perry Como, and Tony Bennett. They will be more than happy.

You might be thinking of "Libiamo" from La Traviata by Verdi (aka The Drinking Song).

If it wasn't for the copyright issue, I would use some contemporary Italian pop. For example, Simone Christicchi's rather daft pop rap "Vorrei Cantare Come Biagio Antonacci" or the very touching ballad "I Bambini Fanno Oh" by Povia, depending on the mood you want to convey.

Cheers

Check out Sounddogs and search for "Italian"

And you wouldn't use a Tarantella because????? Yes, I know it's cheesey but so is the pizza!

what i love about this group is i can post in the evening, and wake up with replies - that's one of the advantages of living downunder.

unfortunately there's no serious music budget - library or classical (through amcos) - and i don't want the godfather chasing me for using his theme....

looking at the four seasons (spring), and rossini cavalaria... either way, many thanks for your contributions, they are much appreciated.

ave a gud un
