Is it possible to adjust the volume of a music clip added to a main menu?
Without the ability to adjust the volume, I'm finding that the menu music is considerably louder than the audio in any of the selected links from the main menu. I'd appreciate any guidance here...
While Steve's advice is certainly helpful and will do the trick for you, it might be helpful to point out a possible reason for the discrepancy between the levels of your 'program' audio and the menu music.
You haven't provided any information on the origin of the various media files, but the scenario you describe often results when AC-3 files are rendered by Vegas without dialog normalization being set to -31db. The resultant audio tracks sound rather anemic when DVD Architect creates the DVD. If you've prepared your program audio in this way and then just added a wav or mp3 audio file as menu background audio, DVD Architect would be rendering it to AC-3 and it could very well be at a different audio level than that produced by Vegas.
If you're interested in learning more about this, a forum search for 'dialog normalization' will go a long way towards clearing this up. (or confusing you, whichever comes first...)
Thanks, also for your reply. The music clip I used in the menu was the same as background music I'd used in the video, although in the video I had decreased the volume somewhat, thinking I could do the same in Architect.
I did take Steve's advice and used Sony's Audio Studio software to adjust the volume of the menu clip and that worked perfectly. I looped it to run for 30 seconds before repeating, and adjusted the volume to match that of the video linked from the menu.
