MUSIC MAKER seems to come with the 15 Suite. I didn't see any explanation. Is this free? Does it comes with any usable music tracks? Very large download. Any Vegas users explain this thing?
What is the value in it since Vegas is pretty much a full scale DAW already? I'd read up on it a bit, seemed redundant. Not running it down, just curious about it.
The DAW features of Vegas Pro aren't made for loop and sample based editing and music arrangements. No sound pools, no software instruments, no MIDI editor, no VST3 support (which isn't part of the free version of Music Maker). Also the given FX in Music Maker are straightforward meant for music optimization.
MusicMaker is a min-DAW but has many great features and uses. Putting aside the free version and using Live or better Premium, you can have umpteen MIDI instruments, and thousands of Soundpool loops, with up to 7 different pitches each, and many styles. Here is a tutorial that I did with an older version of MusicMaker and Magix Movie Edit Pro showing how to dub (add music and other effects) to a video. This may give you or others some ideas as to the usefulness of MusicMaker. Of course, the same can be done using Samplitude Music Studio or Samplitude, but the interface is much more user-friendly. I would expect that Magix would introduce the same Share features for Vegas. Any evidence of this?
So does this mean Magix have abandoned attempts to revive Acid?
I have no idea. A couple of users on the Magix.info forum claim that they have heard that a version 8 is in the works. We will just have to wait. You might want to post the question on the Magix.info forum to see if anyone has news on this.
