All you gotta go is put video to music. Easy. Now, making a good one can be hard. Just watch videos you like & try to do what they did. Most of the work is thinkingwhat youwant it to look like & prepping for it (getting the music recorded, decided what youwanna shoot, etc).
Using the 'M' (marker) while listening to the music before you add video really hooks you up. It keeps your edit points on beat. Be careful though that you don't place markers equally. This will be very boring to watch. Tap the 'M' with the beat/rythm you feel when you hear the music. Go not only by the snare but listen for the other instrument rythms.
The tutorial by Spotted Eagle should definitely get you started. If you do what that tutorial says you should come out with a pretty good video. Provided you have good footage and are a decent editor with a vision. Your editing should start before you even have footage... try to storyboard what you want... then shoot it... then edit it using Spotted Eagles tips. But if you are gonna do a performance video( a little easier) the 'M' should pretty much be all you need... once again... along with your vision and skills.
Well, stop by sevillemedia.com and in the CINEMA section you will see my very first music video for a group called Young Casanovas. This is a good example of how NOT to do music video, but you will also see a page for a guy by the name of CINCERE. I have been doing promos for this guy here and there and we are about to finish our first actual music video. Moral of my post? Just start doing it and let the world see it, than take notes and improve in the next video.
