My DVD Chapter Markers Only During Capture Workaround?

My first project with MS got a little messed up using DVD Lab for the DVD authoring process. On my new one I wanted to use My DVD. So I've already input the AVI files into the puter using the program WinDV (which is a cool free download BTW); however, I just noticed that MyDVD will only create chapters on video which is captured by it. Is there any way to work around this? Am I suppose to use it to capture, create chapters then input into MS for editing? Seems kind of weird to put a DVD authoring step prior to the editing process!?

MyDVD does not allow for re-arranging clips. I do all the editing in MS and then bring the finished.avi files into MyDVD in the order that you want them to appear in the finished product. Not very elegant but it works.

Can you create the DVD with scene selection menus to correlate with the chapters if done this way?

Yes, you can do many things with them including adding sub menus but you just cannot rearrange the clips once you bring them into the program.

Well, just got my answer to all last night. MyDVD is a wash. Locked up whenever I tried to open my MS movie when trying to author the DVD. Used DVDLab and TEMPEnc and both worked perfectly although DVDLab a little better IMO. Guess I"ll just delete the MyDVD to make space for a more effective program.
