My DVD Project Gets Zoomed Out Once Burned

RayGunn wrote on 12/19/2005, 6:29 PM
I can't seem to burn my project right because once my project is render and burned on my DVD, the menu and picture compilation I added all zoomed out of range 1.2 times the project preview shown un DVD Architect. I played around with my Workspace features and nothing was out of range and now I just don't know what to try.

Thank you.

What do you mean by "out of range" and how do you come up with 1.2 times? I don't know of any feature that allows you to shrink your menu to a smaller size.

I think what you're noticing is not a result of "zooming" but rather a result of "overscan." See my post in this thread for more info or do a search of the forum for "overscan" to find someone who can explain it better than I can. ;)

OK but I allready tried using the workspace options and everything was in range, So mainly what your telling me is that my TV isn't reading it rignt...

If you are refering to what Bstro pointed out, then give it a try on your computer and see what is being cut off there; try a flat screened tv, and try a different regular tv. What you will find is that all three should be different, granted it may only be slightly, but they will be different in what they allow you to see around the edges. My home TV, which is about 15 years old, cuts off about an inch on both the left and the right sides. My monitors show almost everything that is within the title safe area and my TV monitor shows somewhere in the middle of the other two. It is part of life, like when building a website, you should go for the lowest common denominator when building one- meaning you should use 800x600 as the standard resolution rate as that is what most people still use. I hope that made since, but the point is, when preparing your project, you should always bank on the smallest amount of screen realestate and if people are able to see more, then great, but if not, they can atleast see read all the words without them being cut off the screen.

By "in range," do you mean that everything fits within the safe zones (the two dotted-line boxes) or do you just mean it's within the workspace itself?

Your TV doesn't "read" safe zones -- they are simply guides for you to use as you create your content. It's up to you, the content producer, to ensure that what you want to be seen will be seen.
