My image files are being treated as CMX3600 EDLS!

I'm trying to import some images that I've created with Paintshop pro into Vegas. Now I've had luck with some, but a lot of them are showing up in Vegas' explorer as CMX3600 EDL: Avid/Final Cut files (As displayed on the status bar of explorer).

I have restarted Vegas
Made a new project
Restarted Machine
Repaired the install

And still the images can't be inserted for some reason. Now I cut and paste an image from Paintshop pro into Mspaint and resaved. That loaded OK. Is there any known issues between PSP and Vegas, or does anyone know what's going on here? It's damned frustrating.

OK, I've done a little investigation and am a bit perplexed as to what I'm finding. If I have the word 'TITLE' in the filename of my graphic, and it's all in uppercase, then it appears as one of these CMX3600 EDL's. If I make one of the letter lowercase, it's all fine. I took some other files that didn't have the word 'TITLE' in them, and added the word in various places. They all now have the problem. If I try different words, they're OK. Now while this sounds totally weird, you never know. I've seen worse things happen for stranger reasons. If someone else can do some tests to either substantiate what I've found or not it'd really help.

NOTE: This also happens in Vegas 4.

Same here.
Added the word title in the name of a jpeg image and got the CMX3600 EDL...

Wierd, but I guess once you know what's going on it's easy enough to workaround it.
Still you have to wonder if the extension is ".jpg" how does it determine it's an EDL file!

Thanks guys. Well that's good to know it's not just me going mad. Yeah, I can only imagine there's some poor/legacy code sitting in there somewhere with the way they detect CMX EDL's....

How do we escalate this bug(?) to their techsupport/development area?
