My problems with Vegas 4.0

Hello,
I love Vegas 4.0 and for me it's the better of all.

I have a PC with Amd processor, Windows 2000, geforce4 Ti4600 and 1Gb of RAM.

I have always this problems with Vegas:

- When I render all with the DivX codec, the result is very bad. So, I have to convert all in an high quality Mpeg file, then convert the mpg to DivX. The result is perfect, but I don't understand why I have rendering problems with DivX (all versions, 5.1 included).

- If I install Xvid codec, Vegas has some problems to read DivX movies.

- Often, Vegas doesn't recognize the audio stream of a DivX movie.

- Sometimes, one or more frames of an imported video become black. So I must close and re-open Vegas to have all right.

Anyone can explain me?

THANX

DIVX is actually a MPEG-4 video file so that is probably why you have problems importing them and working with them in Vegas. Just like if you import an MPEG-2 file into vegas you will notice it is very slow to load the file into the timeline, and painfully slow to edit with. You are better off rendering your project out to an uncompressed AVI and then encoding it to DIVX. IF you try to go from a compressed format, to another compressed format you are not only taking a major quality hit, but you are intorducing many problems.
