My Review of "Complete Training for Vegas 7"

I found I have access to these training videos through our company's license with Safari Books Online (figures, I just ordered some VASST dvds! <grin>), and I've been watching some of the videos this evening.

The fellow has a Southern accent, but then, so do I, so I personally like it. I have to say, I think the content is incredible. My biggest problem is going to be remembering it all! I'm taking notes as I go along.

He's teaching all sorts of little things I never knew, like pressin zero on the numeric keypad to automatically create and select a little region around an edit (cut, transition, etc) so you can watch it in place. And pressing Q to toggle whether that region loops or just plays once.

And I finally understand takes!

Anyway, I just thought I'd share that, in case anyone is looking for good training videos. Yes, it's Vegas 7, but so far, everything he's taught has worked in 9.0e (I know the trimmer is going to be different, as other things, I'm sure).

Soon, I'll be trying out the VASST dvds, too. I bought the Beginner 3 (dvds 1-3), volume 9 (ProType Titler) and volume 10 (Composition). If anyone's interested, I'll be happy to give my take on them after I watch them.

*Maybe* I'll learn some stuff I can share here! I've sure learned a lot here, so I'd love to be able to give something back.
