I had at least 12 hours of work into an Episode for our Youtube channel, reviewed the near completed project with my wife, and the next morning when I went to open it, I got an error message telling me that it cannot open the file and now the project is GONE.
The only remnants of the project I can find is a .vf.tmp file with the same name. Is this an autosave or something and is there any way for me to restore it?

I actually saved it many times during editing. I even had 2 separate saves under different names, but the saves for those are also gone (there is .vf.tmp files for them. When I went to open my saved project the morningn after the review with my wife, I saw the project file. After attempting to open it and being told by Movie Studio that it could not open the file, the project file disappeared.
I tried what you suggested with an older version of my save with the .bak. IT WORKED! Thanks so much for the response! You saved me a ton of work.
