My Thoughts On Vegas Pro As A Whole

I know I posted a few things on here a couple times but thought I just wanted to share my thoughts on Vegas Pro as a whole.

I got movie Studio Platinum 12 when it came out all those years ago and used Platinum till 17 when Vegas did the subscription and that was a lifesaver.

I've been editing Star Wars fan edits like trailer edits and stuff and other movies, off and on for 10 years though I didn't see the success as I wished back then on my YouTube channels I had back then. I made 6 channels and I'm on my 6th go. Lol.

I know Vegas had its history of being laggy and crashing a lot. But it is still a great software when you get the Sapphire, BCC, Twixtor and MBLs, Ignite from Hitfilm Pro, and especially the Vegausar plugin which I got earlier this year for tiktok edits to do beats in music faster. Oh and someone made a flow graph plugin like After Effects has as well to do smooth zooms for those tiktok edits which I do etc.

This past month or so I tried making tiktok edits in After Effects got the hang of it a bit but I just felt the pressure to use it because every movie/TV show tiktok/YouTube editor keeps saying to use it to get good quality to go viral and to use it for effects, yes there are advantages to after effects for effects but I was like "what's the point if I don't go all out with the visuals and text" so I decided to stick with Vegas Pro for them since I can still do fade up words and stuff in them and my own glow effect I made like deep glow using some of the plugins and stuff.

I did try Davanci Resolve but the timeline and fusion tab got to me but it did have awesome scripts that someone makes for edits like fade up words and deep glow and others but the timeline and fusion were confusing lol.

I did try premiere once but eh.

Overall to what I'm saying is it's just disappointing to see Vegas Pro getting the bad reputation it gets. Since the timeline and everything is user-friendly and when it comes to 5.1 audio from shows and movies to keep the center channel that has the dialogue it's super easy. There are Vegas Pro discords out there and channels who make tutorials for them still and for tiktok edits but it is thinning with some being a year old and 4+ old Or so so I'm taking this opportunity to try to do tutorials for the trendy effects and stuff. I guess what I'm saying is that Vegas Pro is just an underrated software and it deserves more love than it gets especially now with the newer versions.

But yeah just felt like I had to tell my story about Vegas Pro and stuff.

I'm a Vegas Pro user for life. Lol. 🙏

Oh also I found out that when you do the gradient ramp effect in after effects you can't even select one word for the effect and for the protype tool in Vegas you can do major win there!

Who ever read this thanks.

@AnkarosEdits21 Thanks for the positive feedback. Glad you have shared how versatile Vegas Pro is, despite the bad rap it sometimes receive.

Yeah, like for real it's underrated, I tried Capcut PC for a year, that was good while it lasted and then moved back to Vegas. And then really felt the pressure and anxiety when it came to move to after effects for tiktok edits like I can edit in it right but there wasn't reality any point when I made basic edits with zooms and shakes and not go all out like people so on AE, The flow graph plugin even made it better 10x better. I tried Resolve because of the scripts someone made like I mentioned but the fusion tab was confusing because I think that's how you got to use the value graph.

The one thing I do wish though Vegas needs to have a value graph like after effects that would be the biggest win instead of the curves graph. But that's me. Lol. But yeah every software I tried these past few months I always circled back to Vegas. I'm only at 48% now of unlocking it to it's full potential. There is another star wars editor out there who unlocked it to it's full potential though.
